Ty Segall, the always busy and always creating DIY California singer/songwriter is readying a new self-titled for release on January 27th of next year. Segall assembled a band consisting of usual pals in Mikal Cronin and Charles Moothart, along with Emmett Kelly and Ben Boye and hit the studio with full band in tact for this new LP which follows this year’s Emotional Mugger, as well as an epic list of incredible albums that include Manipulator, Sleeper, Twins, Goodbye Bread, Lemons, and about 50 other albums I haven’t even mentioned. In lieu of the release in early 2017 Segall has unleashed the acoustic beauty “Orange Color Queen”, a Beatles-esque strummer that would’ve fit nicely on the White Album. As usual, it’s got a gritty feel with the warmth of some long lost 70s tune. Rarely does Segall disappoint, and “Orange Color Queen” keeps that vibe going.
