Essex-based death metallers BEYOND EXTINCTION have returned with a brand new single and music video for ‘Gravedigger’, premiered via Slam Worldwide. The track is the second to be taken from their upcoming second EP, Nothing More Wretched, due 17th March 2023.

On the new single and music video, vocalist Jasper Harmer explains:
“’Gravedigger’ pulls together the apocalyptic visions and sounds we had in mind for this EP through down-tuned guitar work and chaotic structure, paired with a self-produced video that visualises a small window of the horrors we have created in this new music.”

On the EP, the band continue:
“Nothing More Wretched follows a concept pathway of the pains and tortures of an armageddon which occurs on both a psychological and physical level. It is a mutation of down-tuned instrumentals used in a relentless, almost machine-like way, and is an ignorantly heavy display of what death metal derivatives can offer at their most violent.”

With the eldest member just 23 years old, Essex four-piece BEYOND EXTINCTION have surpassed their years with a sound, live show and image that exceeds expectations from a band so fresh-faced. Self-managed and independent, BEYOND EXTINCTION grasp the challenges of breaking through the UK scene with both hands. Their first ever UK festival appearance was Bloodstock 2021 to a packed New Blood stage, and they have completed tours spanning the UK with their debut headline tour selling out half its dates. Creating a sound with a foundation in the violent rage of down-tuned deathcore, conjoined with influence from classic death metal and vitriolic beatdown, this dark and unrelenting sound is paired with a live show that takes no prisoners and lays waste to venues wherever it’s exhibited.

Their debut EP, The Fatal Flaws of Humankind, saw the light of day in 2021, garnering praise from Kerrang!’s Alex Baker who stated it was “death metal of the highest order”, whilst Distorted Sound said they were “the future of deathcore”, and Gig Radar claimed they were “a band that absolutely has the talent to make it to the very top of the British metal scene”.

Now, with numerous festival slots and headline tours across the country under their collective belt, as well as support slots alongside Viscera, Osiah, Cancer Bats, The Five Hundred, Monasteries, Our Hollow Our Home, and Red Method, BEYOND EXTINCTION return to the fold with more face-melting and gut-churning death metal with their second EP, Nothing More Wretched.
