Blazing into the alt-rock scene with unfiltered emotion and unapologetic grit, Chloe Star has released her explosive new EP APT 1101, a five-track manifesto of self-discovery, defiance, and raw human truth.
Led by the electrifying single ‘Bad Habit’, a sonic gut-punch that sets the explosive tone for the full EP, the EP displays the signature blend of punk energy and soul-baring lyricism that has seen Chloe Star acclaimed previously. Rooted in her Indigenous and Persian heritage and shaped by a life spent between San Bernardino and Los Angeles, Chloe channels a dual sense of identity and intensity into every note.
“‘Bad Habit’ is a take on the rebellious energy that often breeds creative inspiration that I think people are sometimes too afraid to tap into,” Chloe explains. “It’s also a song about confronting the problem — and realizing that sometimes, youare the problem.”
That brutal honesty is the backbone of APT 1101. Named for a symbolic inner sanctuary, the EP is Chloe’s boldest statement yet – a fierce, five-track journey into the emotional wreckage and revelations of young adulthood. Drawing sonic parallels to the edge of Willow and Billie Eilish, the fire of Jessie Reyez, and the ghost of rock legends like Janis Joplin and Kurt Cobain, Chloe Star isn’t just borrowing inspiration — she’s burning her own path forward.
Recorded in New York City and with tracks written alongside producer and co-writer Alan Markley (known for his work with Nat & Alex and Jack Antonoff’s Romeo & Juliet), the EP features a talented and experienced team of musicians: guitarist Meg Toohey (Sara Bareilles, Jason Mraz), drummer Avi Rosen (Charlie Puth, Maggie Rogers), and bassist Tim Lappen (Casual Male). The result is a polished, accessible, yet high-octane and exciting collection of tracks which bring a raw sense of intensity whilst also delivering commercially a-tuned songwriting.
Chloe’s ascent has been meteoric. She recently completed a triumphant Pride Tour, captivating audiences across the U.S. and U.K., including a standout set at London Pride.
