News: BIG NOTER Drop New Single “Talk Straight” Ahead of Karnivool Tour

Following the release of debut single Identity, BIG NOTER are back with Talk Straight — a hard-edged, riff-driven track released today via Island Records Australia. The single lands as the band prepares to hit the road nationally, joining Karnivool on tour starting this week in Hobart.

Stream Talk Straight HERE.

Fronted by Briggs, the Yorta Yorta rapper known for his work across hip-hop and social commentary, BIG NOTER marks a return to the guitar-led sounds that first shaped his early musical interests. While his solo material has often drawn from personal and political themes, BIG NOTER channels those same instincts through a heavier lens, drawing influence from hardcore, punk, and metal.

Produced by Nick DiDia (Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam), Talk Straight critiques superficiality and performative behaviour. Lyrically direct and musically uncompromising, the track centres on a punchy refrain: “Talk straight… watch your mouth if you’re talkin’ to me.”

The single follows a European run supporting Amyl & The Sniffers, and precedes the band’s first full national tour in Australia. In addition to the Karnivool dates, BIG NOTER will also support Suicidal Tendencies on their 2025 Australian tour. Their first headline show at Northcote Social Club this August has already sold out.

An as-yet-untitled debut album is in the works, with more details expected later this year. BIG NOTER is positioning itself as a new voice in Australian heavy music, shaped by lived experience and refusing to shy away from direct expression.
