News: brandøn Shines On New Single ‘Darkness’

Emerging electronic artist brandøn explores the transformative power of darkness on ‘Darkness’, a heavy, atmospheric new single that combines the shadowy textures of witch house with immersive, wave-inspired electronic soundscapes. Driven by deep sub-bass, electronic synths and an underlying sense of tension, the track creates a brooding, cinematic listening experience. Yet beneath its dark exterior is a more uplifting message of resilience, personal growth and the ability to find strength through adversity.

Marking an important milestone in brandøn’s artistic development, ‘Darkness’ also signals the beginning of an exciting creative collaboration with London-based producer and engineer Peter Rubinstein, whose credits include work associated with Trent Reznor, Skepta, Joji and Lorde. Executive produced, mixed and mastered by Rubinstein, the single brings together brandøn’s distinctive musical vision with the producer’s experience in creating detailed, sonically ambitious productions. The final masters were completed at London’s iconic AIR Studios, adding further significance to a release that represents a clear step forward for the emerging artist.

With a focus on sonic depth, atmosphere and dynamic impact, Rubinstein has helped shape the track’s expansive production, balancing its underground electronic influences with a powerful sense of clarity and precision. The result is a composition that moves between shadowy textures and moments of intensity, allowing its emotional message to emerge through the music itself.

For brandøn, the collaboration extends well beyond a single release. ‘Darkness’ is the first instalment in a wider creative project that will also feature two forthcoming singles, ‘Silence’ and ‘After Life’, both set to be produced by Rubinstein as part of a planned November release. Together, the three tracks will explore themes of isolation, internal control, emotional intensity and the strength that can emerge from difficult experiences, further establishing the artistic and sonic world brandøn is creating.

Darkness is about seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. From things going bad or wrong, make you stronger and turn them into your super power. The hope, always at the end shows up. – brandøn

This perspective is central to brandøn’s musical identity. Rather than simply embracing darkness for its own sake, his work looks towards the possibility of transformation, finding a sense of empowerment in experiences that might otherwise feel overwhelming. Drawing on his background in acting and a disciplined approach to physical embodiment, he brings a strong sense of presence, character and tension to his music, using immersive electronic compositions to communicate emotions that words cannot always capture.

Across earlier releases including ‘overdose’, ‘me n u forever’ and ‘breathe’, alongside the new single, brandøn has begun developing a distinctive sound rooted in heavy atmospheres, dark electronic textures and driving momentum. His music occupies a space where underground electronic aesthetics meet cinematic ambition, creating compositions intended to connect with listeners on both a physical and emotional level.

The arrival of ‘Darkness’ therefore represents more than another addition to his growing catalogue. It introduces a significant production partnership and establishes the foundations for a new phase of creative development. An accompanying music video is planned for Halloween, extending the track’s dark visual identity, while brandøn is also preparing to bring his music to the stage, with plans to begin performing live sets in 2027.

With ‘Darkness’, brandøn demonstrates an ability to find light within even the most shadowed musical territory. Combining the intensity of witch house with atmospheric electronic production and a message rooted in resilience, the single offers a compelling introduction to his evolving artistic direction. It is a statement of intent from an emerging artist entering an exciting new chapter, with the forthcoming releases promising to take his creative vision even further.
