The ever shimmering sounds of Quivers return with their brilliant new single ‘Bottle The Nervous’: an absolutely enthralling slice of jangle pop pie that sparkles like the stars in the great southern skies.

Signed to US giants Merge Records, we last heard from Quivers via their album Oyster Cuts released in 2024 and their album ‘Golden Charm’ received universal accolades (see our review here).

A line up change heralds the return but the sounds remain the same: charming sweet melodies that have genetic ties to bands like Belle & Sebastian and the C86 era but with an endearing antipodean dream pop blush.

The single is backed by a cover of The Vulgar Boatmen’s ‘Drive Somewhere’. There are two versions of the 7″ single available via Bandcamp – one from the US Merge site and the other for the Australian audience as well as availability on all the usual streaming sites.

The single was recorded by Michael Beach in Essendon, Victoria. Wurundjeri Country,
and mixed by Jethro Pickett – a regular and seasoned Tasmanian musician whose contributions to others and solo work has featured on our site.

Quivers are embarking on an end of the year tour in Australia (including a number of appearances in one of the member’s home state Tasmania) before heading to the UK and Europe in the new year: dates below.
