News: Mariah the Scientist announces debut Australian headline tour

Mariah the Scientist

Mariah the Scientist has confirmed her first-ever Australian headline tour, bringing her Hearts Sold Separately run to local stages in May 2026. Presented by Live Nation, the tour marks a significant step for the Atlanta-born R&B singer-songwriter as her profile continues to grow beyond the US.

The Australian dates begin at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on May 9 and 10, before moving to Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on May 12 and closing at Melbourne’s Festival Hall on May 14. It follows a year that has seen Mariah the Scientist move from cult favourite to broader recognition, including festival appearances at Lollapalooza and Governors Ball.

Her 2025 single Burning Blue was named at #12 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Songs of 2025, while collaborations like Is It a Crime with Kali Uchis have expanded her reach without diluting the clarity of her songwriting. That directness has been a defining feature of her work since her debut album Master in 2019, through Ry Ry World and 2023’s To Be Eaten Alive, which delivered her first Billboard 200 entry.

With Hearts Sold Separately, released in 2025, Mariah the Scientist leans further into emotional precision rather than spectacle. Drawing influence from writers like Outkast and Frank Ocean, and guided by the discipline of artists such as Prince and Whitney Houston, her songs approach love with a frank, unsentimental gaze. It’s that balance of restraint and intimacy that makes this debut Australian tour feel timely, rather than overdue.
