After a hiatus, Rhys Bloodjoy is back. ‘Drugs Loop’ is the first track taken from his new LP Chaos In Veins, and BSM brings you the video premiere.
For Chaos In Veins , Bloodjoy departs from the cold/darkwave sound of his 2020 album, Human.Pattern.Repeat. and ventures into different territory with an album originally developed as a musical accompaniment to Vividsection – a conceptual series of artworks by Dangerosa. In true Bloodjoy style, the album reflects on some of the darker aspects of the human condition – drug addiction, suicide, demonic possession et al. – but ventures even further; exploring concepts from the soul level, through the birth process and into the deepest quantum/cellular levels of existence.
The original Manchester sound that Bloodjoy emerged with for ‘Broken Window’ is engraved into the blueprint, but ‘Drugs Loop’ carves its own path, with a more upbeat countenance than we are used to which hypnotises from the first beat to the last. Aptly named, the track intoxicates and sets the bar high for album.
