Track: Brooklyn Art-Punks Mary Shelley Release New Single ‘She’s A Star’

Brooklyn four piece Mary Shelley release the vibrant, infectious new bop ‘She’s A Star’.

Described as ‘punk music you can dance to’, the band’s sound brings together sprawling guitar lines, the high-octane energy of their live shows and expressive, often half spoken vocals in a sea of noise and euphoria. Produced by acclaimed engineer Jeremy Snyder (Idles, Fontaines DC, Gilla Band) ‘She’s A Star’ continues this trend whilst leaning into the more indie-pop side of the sound – leaving the grungy distorted sounds of their previous material and instead delivering catchy vocal lines over tight intertwining guitar lines and picked bass and driving drums.

Balancing the bands stylistic, post-punk aesthetic whilst displaying a more controlled approach the single offers some of the bands most melodic work to date whilst retaining the sense of energy and playful sense of freedom the band have become renowned for.

Following a year which saw the band perform across the globe, including a U.K tour in May, the band’s rawkus and inexplicably fun live shows have seen the band gain widespread acclaim across tastemaker press and radio alike. Now back with more new material, Mary Shelley continue to solidify their place as one to watch.
