You Made Me is a Pete Astor album of other people’s songs and one original “Chained To An Idiot which has just been released. Its a response to the rest of the songs on the album and there effect on Pete “Like everybody, my life has been sound-tracked by the songs I listen to and sing along with”.
Chained To An Idiot fits in well with the covers on the album as they all have the same feel. Chained to an idiot, referring to the tale of the permanent teenager chained to his needs, has a laid back progressive addictive beat which really gets going with hand claps and and vocal oohs and that noticeable bass. It’s simply a great song on an album of other great songs. Pete has managed to make a covers album sound original and completely his own.
