Track: Wedding – 18

Wedding, essentially (at least at its outset) is the the project of Thomas Craig, formerly of Londoners Charles Howl. A debut EP began to bring some attention their way, and a recent move from Berlin to Manchester has prompted a debut album, and this single taken from it, 18.

“’18’ was the first song written for Wedding when I was still playing guitar in the London band Charles Howl,” says Craig. “It was something I played in sound check when we toured Europe. It means a lot to me as the first song that helped me look back on and package away a pretty bleak period of bullying and abuse in school.” There’s plenty of jangle to the minute included in 18, but it also bares its teeth, these razor sharp guitar lines giving it a little bit more menace, and the wistful vocals smudging the lines between indie and a psych/shoegaze vibe

Debut album ‘Mania Whatever’ is out 23rd March on Maternal Voice.

The band, who have just finishing supporting Proper Ornaments, have a couple of live dates coming up later in the month.

23rd March – The Shacklewell Arms, London (free entry)
24th March – The Castle Hotel, Manchester
