News: Jack White returns with first new music since 2024 ahead of SNL appearance

Jack White has dropped two new tracks — ‘G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs’ and ‘Derecho Demonico.’ They have arrived without warning, marking his first new material since 2024 and landing with the restless energy that has long defined his catalogue.

The timing is deliberate. The release coincides with White’s upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live, a platform he has consistently used as a proving ground rather than a victory lap. These songs feel built for that environment — raw, immediate and primed for live performance.

‘G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs’ leans into White’s familiar tension between blues grit and fractured rock dynamics, while ‘Derecho Demonico’ pushes into harder rock territory. Together, they point toward an artist still chasing movement rather than settling into form.

White’s 2024 Australian tour drew strong reviews, reinforcing his reputation as a performer who thrives on unpredictability. With a European tour scheduled for later this year, these tracks feel less like standalone releases and more like the opening move in a wider phase. With White, songs rarely stay fixed — they evolve, stretch and reshape once they hit the stage.
