Following a string of packed-out headline shows across the Southwest UK, rising indie-rockers Haytor return with their vibrant new single Need To Know (When You’re Coming Home). Accompanied by a strikingly polished new video, the trck showcases more of the band’s anthemic indie songwriting.

Blending emotional sincerity with bright, elegant guitar work and infectious indie-pop hooks, the track builds a strikingly complete soundscape under the lead vocals – thick and punchy yet refined and intricate. Balancing inventive 1975-esque, 80s-tinged guitar lines with subtle keys and the stylistic, instantly repeatable yet restrained and heartfelt vocal delivery. The result is a track which would fit as well on a contemporary indie-pop playlist as it would alongside the likes of Tears For Fears.

The driving, deep bass and high-energy drums pull the track forward with a sense of purpose as it moves through subtle, clever chord progressions and subtle splashes of synth that keep it interesting throughout and display a distinct musical understanding.

Speaking about the story behind the single, frontman Austin Robison shared: “We wrote ‘Need To Know’ in the height of summer as this big, vibey, late-night drive track. It’s about the absence of that someone, the longing of that connection and collections of hazy memories together.”

Following glowing support across tastemaker radio and press, the band’s live reputation has seen them open for bands like The Snuts and Deco, while recent tours have included packed-out dates in Bristol, London, Exeter, and Plymouth, with standout appearances at Rough Trade Bristol and on festival stages at Boardmasters, Lakefest, Gone Wild, and Oceanfest. Now, with momentum firmly behind them, Haytor are set to hit the road again.

Catch their upcoming live dates and watch the stunning new video below:

Upcoming Live Dates:

16th August – Exeter Cavern
30th August – The Louisiana, Bristol
20th September – SOUND Festival
