To mark its second birthday, Eora/Newtown venue Bootleggers has announced a run of free live shows across August and September, spotlighting a wide range of emerging local acts. The lineup includes headline sets from Liquid Zoo, Kosher Groove, SLIM JIMZ, Jacob Turl, GRXCE, Julia Why?, and MEMORY MOTEL, supported by a rotating cast of rising artists across genres.
Located above Kelly’s on King, Bootleggers is a 200-cap room with full backline, including Fender amps and a Pearl Export Series kit. The venue recently underwent a $15,000 production upgrade, boosting its sound and lighting systems for both artists and audiences.
Now operating seven nights a week, Bootleggers has expanded its programming with late-night Friday events and Saturday club nights highlighting diverse genres, scenes, and communities.
It also joins a growing network of independently-minded live music venues in Sydney’s Inner West, alongside spots like The Lansdowne and The Trocadero Room. Together, they form an emerging circuit for grassroots touring and local performance.
