Cherry Red follow on from the Classic C86 and follow up C87 with this new 3 CD deluxe Set featuring music from the DIY indie Scene of 1987.

When the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order and Kylie were propping up the top end of the indie charts in 1988, the smaller self funded  UK DIY indie labels were still pushing their case and doing it very well.

C88 follows the line of the previous C86/87 releases, although bands on CD1 have not appeared on the forerunners, music was moving and its early opener The Stone Roses, Elephant Stone is proof of this, other bands on the opening disc include, The Popguns, The Man From Delmonte , The Driscolls , Bridewell Taxis and the cracking Pale Saints demo Colours and Shapes.

CD 2 features bands who have already been featured, with releases and tracks from the year, The House Of Love unreleased The Hill, Inspiral Carpets, The Darling Buds Shame on You,  BOB the extended catchy single release of Kirsty and The Flatmates Heaven Knows from the Sarah records label of Bristol, who`s bands feature quite widely on this issue.

CD3 delves a little more into some of the lesser known outfits but still worthy of being included here, The Caretaker Race, The Siddeleys, The Corn Dollies and the Raw Herbs all make an appearance.

The Box includes a 900 word sleeve note, band biographies and images and will sit very nicely with the previous 2 releases in your collection.
