Swiss solo artist Moon Construction Kit shares the new single, ‘Snake Charmer’. The cinematic track, blending indie rock with an alternative edge, marks the artists first new music of 2026.
From the first note, ‘Snake Charmer’ captivates with an eerie, alternative backbone, crafting a twisted yet effortlessly gripping anthem. Drawing from baroque-pop, pyschedelic-indie, and alternative rock, the single highlights Moon Construction Kit’s distinctive approach to pop, demonstrating his flair for pushing creative boundaries while maintaining an accessible, hypnotic sound.
Opening with Strummed guitar and honky piano before building layers of synth and the effortless vocals which dance across the psychedelic tinged soundscape. As the track grows introducing tight drums and swirling vocal harmonies it eventually builds to a brilliant an unexpected, euphoric instrumental break in its latter half comparable to Doves.
“With ‘Snake Charmer’, I was aiming for a vibe that feels like a fairground at night, something beautiful but a little bit haunting. I used a crystalline, glassy piano and Mellotron to give it that lush, 60s psych-pop sound, but the lyrics are actually quite clinical. It’s about that moment where you realise the cure you’re following, whether it’s a person or a pill, is actually the problem. By the time the Big Pharma mantra kicks in at the end, I wanted the whole song to feel like a machine that’s finally started to spiral out of control.”
Moon Construction Kit is the brainchild of Lausanne-based writer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Olivier Cornu. His one-man project fuses psychedelic pop, intricate synth textures, and meticulous indie rock arrangements, bridging nostalgia and forward-thinking experimentation. Since debuting in 2022 with his self-titled EP, Olivier has cultivated a sound rich in layered textures and elaborate arrangements. The 2025 psych-pop-leaning single Long John Silver further refined his signature blend of vintage warmth and modern emotional tension, setting the stage for the immersive sonic world of ‘Snake Charmer’.
