DYGL, one of Tokyo’s most compelling indie exports, will finally touch down in Australia in January 2026 for their Who’s In The House East Coast tour. Formed in 2012, the four-piece have spent more than a decade carving out a global identity, blending garage revival, indie rock and a distinctly Japanese emotional clarity.
With their debut album produced by Albert Hammond Jr. of The Strokes, DYGL were pushed early into the wider indie conversation, touring the UK, Europe, the US and Asia while honing a live show that’s equal parts restless and melodic. Comparisons to The Libertines, The Cribs and early Arctic Monkeys surface often, but only describe part of their appeal. There’s a sharpness and introspection in DYGL’s songwriting that gives their sound its own weight.
Across four albums, the band have navigated indie rock, punk immediacy and the grit of early-2000s garage, building a catalogue that moves between urgency and reflection. Their Australian debut arrives at a moment when a new wave of fans have started to follow their trajectory more closely, drawn in by their raw hooks and unpolished charm.
For anyone who still believes in the rush of a great guitar band in a room that feels too small for them, DYGL’s first Australian tour is set to be one of the early highlights of 2026.
