For Yellowcard frontman Ryan Key, Bedroom Posters is rooted in the unease of return: the familiar streets, the memories that linger, and the quiet tension between staying put and chasing something else. In this new version, Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden adds a second perspective that deepens the song’s reflective tone rather than reframing it entirely.
The collaboration feels natural given the bands’ shared history in early-2000s alternative rock, a connection underscored by the song’s focus on formative years spent discovering music in bedrooms and hometowns left behind. Madden describes the track as a long-overdue crossover, one shaped by mutual respect rather than novelty.
Better Days marked a notable return for Yellowcard, executive produced by Travis Barker, who also played drums across the record. The album balances familiarity with a clear-eyed sense of where the band now sit, and Bedroom Postersremains one of its most quietly resonant moments.
The release arrives ahead of Yellowcard joining Good Charlotte on the Motel Du Cap World Tour, which begins its Australia and New Zealand run on February 17. It marks Good Charlotte’s first shows in the region in eight years, bringing two bands with intertwined histories back onto the same stages.
