Track: Planet of Souls Release Hauntingly Beautiful New Single ‘One’ Featuring Lily Papas

Following its atmospheric debut on the soundtrack of the Netflix phenomenon The Survivors earlier this month, Planet of Souls have officially released their emotive new single ‘One’ featuring rising Australian vocalist Lily Papas. The track is out today, July 24th, via Anjunachill, the downtempo imprint of the influential Anjunabeats label.

Planet of Souls is a duo of two experienced writers and producers in Paul Rogers and Tom Barlow. Rogers is widely known for his work remixing major artists including Underworld, Gorillaz, and U2, while Barlow brings a deep background in synthesis and sound design, with releases on acclaimed labels such as 20/20 Vision and Sudbeat.

Cinematic and soul stirring with a sound instantly comparable to London Grammer, ‘One’ is a musically rich offering that deftly blends ethereal electronics with ambient textures and pop sensibilities to create a melancholic beauty. Anchored by delicate piano melodies, swelling strings, and a resonant sub-bass foundation, the song finds its emotional core in Papas’ soaring vocal performance, a perfect match for the track’s introspective tone.

Speaking about the origins of ‘One’, Rogers and Barlow said the song was born during “a challenging time, where the world felt isolated, disconnected and dark. We felt the lyrics captured the mood of the time when it was written, and the sentiment is even truer today.”

Rogers and Barlow describe Planet of Souls as “a project born from the belief that we are all, at our core, simply souls adrift on a single planet.” Rooted in themes of connection and contemplation, the project serves as an open platform for guest vocalists and cross-genre experimentation — a space for unfiltered artistic expression.

With more music on the horizon, the single highlights the breathtaking soundscaping that can be expected across future releases.
