News: DYGL Release Who’s In The House? Ahead of Australian Tour

DYGL

With their first-ever Australian shows just days away, Tokyo four-piece DYGL arrive at a pivotal moment. Ahead of the tour’s opening dates, the band have released their latest album Who’s In The House? locally via Cheersquad Records & Tapes, giving Australian audiences a timely entry point into their most recent chapter.

Formed in 2012, DYGL have spent the past decade building a reputation beyond Japan, combining post-punk tension with the melodic directness of 2000s indie rock. Their early momentum was boosted by debut sessions produced by Albert Hammond Jr., and sustained through extensive touring across the UK, Europe, Asia and the US. It’s a grounding that shows in their live approach, direct, physical, and shaped by the road.

Who’s In The House? continues that trajectory. The record leans into urgency and repetition, pairing wiry guitar lines with lyrics that feel conversational rather than declarative. Released locally on both digital and vinyl formats, including a limited custard-yellow pressing, it lands just as the band prepare to test the songs in unfamiliar rooms.

The upcoming East Coast run marks DYGL’s Australian debut, bringing a catalogue that now spans four albums to audiences who have largely known the band from a distance. With the tour about to begin, Who’s In The House? functions less as a calling card than a snapshot of where the band currently sit: seasoned enough to trust their instincts, curious enough to keep moving forward.
