Actor, composer, and singer-songwriter Peter DiMaggio returns to the music scene with ‘Fly Away,’ a soaring indie-pop single that fuses emotional vulnerability with cinematic production. Drawing from the atmospheric textures of The 1975 and the anthemic optimism of Coldplay, DiMaggio offers a deeply personal reflection on breaking free from toxicity and finding hope even in moments of darkness.
“I wrote this song in the wake of a toxic relationship,” says DiMaggio. “Though I eventually found the strength to leave, this song came from the middle of it—that place where, no matter how bad it gets, you keep getting pulled back in. It’s about yearning for the version of yourself that can finally let go.”
‘Fly Away’ marks a major milestone in DiMaggio’s evolution as an artist – his first fully self-written and self-owned release. The single sets the stage for a larger project due out this spring – Its message of self-liberation mirrors DiMaggio’s own artistic journey toward independence and creative ownership.
Beyond the music, ‘Fly Away’ also marks the first official release from Passeri Records, DiMaggio’s newly launched independent label. Conceived as a home for authentic, emotionally resonant music and cross-disciplinary collaboration, Passeri Records empowers artists to maintain full creative control over their work.
The label’s first project was successfully crowdfunded via Indiegogo, raising over $10,000 with the help of producer Andrew Logue and a dedicated community of fans and supporters.
“Passeri Records is my way of creating a sustainable artistic ecosystem—one where artists can tell their stories on their own terms, and where the success of each project elevates the next,” DiMaggio explains.
