Bare Jams are a Bristol/London based genre-mashing collective consisting of Ollie (Vocals/Guitar), Sam (Drums), Dave (Bass), Josh (Keys), Seb (Trumpet), Jake (Sax). Since forming in 2011 the band went through various line up changes before focusing on songwriting as schoolmates Ollie and Sam joined forces to pen and perform their very own original material. Dave then joined playing bass, beginning the transition into a fully-fledged band.

Many personnel changes followed, each time the band evolving and raising the bar on their highly energetic sound. It was in 2018 that they found their ‘soul’ as a band, effortlessly melding pop, soul, rock and reggae into their very own unique, tight musical brew. The constant creativity from this six-strong band of musical brothers has led them to announce their brand-new single Rockets, which we are proud to be premiering here at Backseat Mafia. The track is also released to coincide with the bands headline UK Autumn tour.

Ollie comments:

“The song floats the idea that we can create our own safe place that we nurture and maintain in order to get to our desired destinations and outcomes while spreading love at the same time. Rockets is a homage to positive perception and optimism.”

An upbeat jazzy number that’s one of the most infectious tracks of the year. Smooth vocals mix with bursts of brass and the clash of cymbals over a generous layer of snappy guitars. There’s a flow to the track that grabs hold and doesn’t let go. The world where Bear Jams make music is a wonderful place indeed.
