Track: James Holt – Pendulum

James Holt has just released a new single, Pendulum, a life-affirming little slice of indie pop, produced by The Coral’s James Skelly, and invoking the spirit of the likes of Johnny Marr, Crowded House, Squeeze and Jeff Lynne.

It’s an uplifting and satisfyingly melodic track, full of the lineage of indeed all the above mentioned artists, and you could chuck the Beatles at it a bit as well. Full of esoteric changes and lovely harmonies, it’s warm and comforting and memorable. Something to wrap up and keep somewhere for when you need cheering up.
