Pronounced “who are ya”, they describe themselves as queer electro punk folk. Ably supported by Eon, The Emotional Support Dinosaur, Oorya are part pagan, part performance artist, wrapped in love and coated in humour. Live shows are more of “a happening”. You’ll sing along, dance and hug yourself, all the time with a smile on your face. There are songs about irons, chips and finding false treasure, all delivered in a mash up between Nina Hagen and early PJ Harvey. A truly unique talent and one which leave you glad you took the time to discover them. However, be aware that life will never be the same again once you’ve worshiped at the altar of Oorya!
