Aya Yves played the Lansdowne Hotel in Sydney on 20.05.2023 as part of her ‘Serotonin & Forget Me Nots’ EP tour. Her new EP explores intensely personal themes and positions itself to be a cathartic exploration of grief. Aya’s ability to capture the dizzying highs and lows of emotion and distill them into poetic pop-tinged songs has seen her amass over 950,000 streams across previous releases. Aya’s power to connect emotionally with an audience was on show on Saturday. With a superb backing band supporting her and featuring the talented dancer Nicholas Jachno, Aya captivated the crowd. Arguably the highlight of the show was her cover of the Temper Trap’s ‘Sweet Disposition’, during which she joined the audience on the dance floor.
