What a fantastic festival this years Heelapalooza has been, with the amazing artists and bands that signed up to perform. The first band on was Picnic, who confidently opened the festival with their funky sound that had the whole crowd dancing along with Robyn’s powerful voice coupled with the lush saxophone.

Next up was the Marines who tore the stage up with heavy fuzzy riffs drenched in feedback and delay as the pounding drums and rumble of heavy bass made the whole room shake. This was the first time I saw them perform and they blew me away.

Third artist to perform, Elizabeth Liddle who never disappoints. I have seen Elizabeth perform 10 times and it’s always great to see her perform and listen to her beautiful voice. Gorgeous piano-led melodies mixed with groovy guitar riffs and jazzed up bass.

With the festival well on its way, firm favourite Motel Carnation took the stage entrancing with their upbeat sounds and romantic vibe as Alex, Connor and Austin bring in the crowd with their infectious songs.

Final band I caught was the ever-brilliant Club Paradise who always put on a good show no matter where they are with their heavy riffs, pumping drums and catchy songs that saw them have the crowd in the palm of their hands. The perfect band to close the festival.
