On a warm evening at Altar Bar in Hobart, Australian punk-rock stalwarts, Cosmic Psychos brought their beer-soaked punk rock to a dedicated, beer-fuelled crowd to further promote their latest. and twelfth studio long-player, I Really Like Beer. This Hobart gig was the second last before the band head off to Europe to continue their special brand of musical mayhem touring the album, and the band were enjoying their time on stage as much as if it were the first of the tour, which started in November last year.

Long-time members, Ross Knight (bass/vocals) and John McKeering (guitar/vocals) were joined by BC Michaels (of Dune Rats fame) on drums, and together they barrelled their way through an 18 song set list comprised of tracks from the new album plus a plethora of fan-favourite tracks from across the length and breadth of their substantial back-catalogue.

The mosh-pit soon became rowdy, with the floor soon resembling a swimmimg pool filled with alcohol as fans grappled, crowd-surfed and allowed their emotions to spill out as they sang along to classics such as Nice Day To Go To The Pub, Fuckwit City and David Lee Roth (amongst many others).

A sweat-soaked night was guaranteed from the start, and I doubt there was a punter who left that night with an ounce of disappointment as Cosmic Psychos went to prove that their longevity is a crown well-worn. They came. They sang (and drank). They conquered.

Thanks to Select Music, Bodriggy Brewing and Heaps Normal for presenting the tour and bringing the band to Hobart.

Rounding out the night, Cosmic Psychos were supported by Geelong power duo, Good Sniff (who have accompanied them throughout the entirety of the tour) and local favourites, Woolworths Flushot.
