What a fantastic way to start the weekend with a trip to the unique Rock and Roll circus! Walking into the Big Top you were immediately hit with the most amazing atmosphere as everyone was excited in anticipation of what was to follow.

This brilliant evening of entertainment kicked off with an amazing set from Somebody’s Child and The Joy Formidable, both huge festival favourites. The Cribs, originating from Yorkshire, got everyone bouncing with classics like ‘Mans Club’ and ‘Don’t You Want To Be Relevant’ before it was time for some music from the other side of the Pennines.

The Happy Mondays put on an absolutely electric performance with some brilliant vocals from Rowetta, with ‘That’s What You Wanted’, before the much-loved Shaun and Bez took to the stage for a barrage of hits including ‘Kinky Afro’, ‘24-hour Party People’ and ‘Step On’. Shaun maintained his position firmly in front of the drums with some belting vocals as Bez threw himself around the stage with his trademark dances and maracas.

With everyone in the party mood, Noel Gallagher and his High-Flying Birds made their appearance. Noel did not disappoint, opening his with ‘Pretty Boy’ and then straight into his latest single, ‘Council Skies’. Noel started his set with new material and moved onto a trip down memory lane with classics such as ‘Master Plan’, ‘Half The World Away’, ‘Little By Little’ and an encore of ‘Live Forever’ and ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’. A brilliant night of top entertainment both inside and outside of that Big Top!
