North Carolina’s Jamil Rashad, aka Boulevards follows up the release of his funk filled self titled EP which droppped last year with a new LP, Groove! out on April 1st via Captured Tracks. Citing the likes of Prince and Rick James as his inspiration, second single Up on your love shows all the swagger of his musical forefathers, as he lays down some authentic funky DnB vocals – imploring “Only a fool would give up on your love, I can’t wait to get up on your love.” , over this stripped back drum heavy accompaniment, the repetitative guitar chords marking the changes. If it doesn’t make you wriggle in your seat, you ain’t listening hard enough.
