Track: Fat White Family reveal brilliant new single, I Am Mark E Smith

Hot on the heels of their sold out show at London’s Electric  Ballroom, Fat White Family have announced a new single, I Am Mark E Smith, the first release on their own Without Consent label, is released on Monday 27th October, available on 10″ vinyl and download. Additionally Trashmouth Records has just re-released the bands debut album, Champagne Holocaust with a bonus ten-track cd featuring unreleased/live tracks and a new inner spread artwork featuring 17 drawings of famous serial killers by Saul from the band.

Opening up with this wonky guitarline and slightly menacing bass/synth line alongside claps (seriously, is there a song that isn’t improved with the addition of handclaps) before heading off on this slow paced art-punk slouch through all that is wonderfully weird about the Fat White Band – off key notes, whisking guitar solos, and assorted musical oddities as it staggers in wonderment from side to side, after taking over the legendary Fall frontmans identity (they have the paperwork to prove it, apparently)

The world is certainly richer with The Fat White Family in it, thats for sure.
