I wrote about I Know Leopard, after the release of their debut single, ‘Picture Perfect’ late last year and saw it as a perfect antidote to the Northern Hemisphere’s winter. Now, six months or so later, at my desk at the Backseat Mafia’s antipodean offices in Sydney, it is the Southern Hemisphere’s turn to be blessed during the middle of winter with the summery, longing feel of I Know Leopard’s follow up single, ‘Close My Eyes:
It’s another dream pop, floating, coasting song imbued with all the pleasures of a summer’s day and yet again, capturing a wistful, melancholic atmosphere. I Know Leopard are garnering a lot of attention in Australia, and it shouldn’t be long before their reputation travels beyond these shores.
