Track: Laura Doggett – Into the Glass (full Spector mix)

Its probably the remarkable voice of Bath singer-songwriter Laura Doggett thats bringing her to the attention of many – not least Years & Years, who she supported recently at their London Heaven dates, and has earned her places at a handful of summer festivals including The Great Escape in May, Dot to Dot Festival in June and Somersault Festival in July. Although judging from her last slice of dark, theatrical pop ‘Midnight’, maybe its her songwriting as well.

Now she’s released a new remix by London producer / songwriter Royce Wood Junior of the title track from her new, debut EP ‘Into the Glass’. There’s a thick fog of synths at the beginning of the track, which suddenly clear to reveal this funked up (Yeah, I did say funked…) Motown vibe which provides the background for the track, this sort of uplifting and gloriously catchy thing.

Her full live dates this summer are:

18th March Cavern, Exeter
19th March The Birdcage, Bristol
20th March The Nest, Bath
2nd May Live at Leeds
3rd May Live at Glasgow
13th May XOYO, London
15th May The Great Escape, Brighton
22nd May Dot to Dot Festival, Manchester
23rd May Dot to Dot Festival, Bristol
24th May Dot to Dot Festival, Nottingham
23rd July Somersault Festival, North Devon
