NZCA Lines have released another track “Two Hearts” from their forthcoming Infinte Summer album. While the previous track Persephone’s Dream was an unsettling seven minute slow-burn (until the marimba kicked in anyway), Two Hearts thumps in on a solid bass beat before rising towards an euphoric crescendo, all in three minutes.

According to the band’s Michael Lovett, Two Hearts is “about the push and pull of a relationship, a pendulum swinging back and forth between joy and hurt, where the ultimate resolution always takes place in the middle of the night, under glaring lights, to a soundtrack of extremely loud music.”. Given that the album is themed around aspects of a futuristic mega city called “Cairo-Athens”, with the disco tinges of Two Hearts, it’s not hard to think of reference points such as Akira and Interstellar 5555 while listening to it. Certainly if the video is as good as Persephone’s Dream was, it will be worth catching.

Infinite Summer is out 22nd January on Memphis Industries and Two Hearts is available now.
