A Perfect Circle are building momentum ahead of their Australian return, releasing a new live video for Starless as the single spends its second consecutive week at number one on the Active Rock radio charts.

Filmed during the band’s sold-out London show earlier this year, the video captures the first live performance of the track, offering fans a taste of what’s coming when Maynard James Keenan and company head Down Under this December.

Recorded at guitarist Billy Howerdel’s Lankershim Ranch Studio in California, Starless was produced by Howerdel, mixed by Matty Green and features longtime collaborator Josh Freese on drums. The band have also released To Whom It May Concern, a more restrained track that contrasts with the heavier sound of Starless.

For Australian fans, the timing couldn’t be better. A Perfect Circle return in December alongside Puscifer, with shows in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney before crossing the Tasman for a performance in Auckland.

Sydney gets two nights, with the band playing Carriageworks on 10 December before heading to the TikTok Entertainment Centre on 11 December, a show that has already sold out.

Formed in 1999 by Howerdel and Keenan, A Perfect Circle established themselves with their 2000 debut Mer de Noms, home to tracks including Judith, 3 Libras and The Hollow. Albums Thirteenth Step, eMOTIVe and Eat the Elephantfollowed, cementing their place in alternative metal.

With two new songs, a fresh live video and their first Australian shows in years approaching, A Perfect Circle are giving fans plenty to look forward to.

Australian and New Zealand tour dates

  • 4 December – The Drive, Adelaide
  • 6 December – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
  • 8 December – Riverstage, Brisbane
  • 10 December – Carriageworks, Sydney
  • 11 December – TikTok Entertainment Centre, Sydney (sold out)
  • 13 December – Spark Arena, Auckland
