Barcelona artist Msb Mario, known as ‘El Niño de la Pili’, is set to arrive in the UK for two intimate live performances at Newcastle’s The Cluny on June 4th and Brighton’s Folklore Rooms on June 27th.
A writer and spoken-word artist, Msb blends poetry with flamenco, reggaeton, rock and electronic influences, creating performances that sit somewhere between concert, theatre and confession. Fresh from a run of 25 shows across his hometown of Barcelona, including appearances at celebrated venues such as Pacha Barcelona, City Hall, Apolo Bar and Hotel Ocean Drive Barcelona, he recently made history at Hootananny Brixton in London as the first Spanish spoken-word artist to perform at the iconic venue.
The upcoming UK dates promise something far removed from a conventional live show. Unfiltered, immediate and unconventional, Msb moves fluidly between spoken word, live music and raw performance, accompanied only by cajón and guitar. The result is an atmosphere that feels intensely personal and physically expressive, where no two performances unfold the same way.
Rather than following a fixed structure, each show evolves organically — part poetry recital, part musical performance, part emotional release, drawing audiences into an intimate and unpredictable experience.
Outside of the stage setting, Msb has built a substantial online following, amassing more than five million views on YouTube and establishing himself among the leading contemporary voices in Spanish spoken word.
