News: Clown Core Announce Long-Awaited Australian Tour

The internet’s most enigmatic jazz-metal duo are heading to Australia for the very first time. Clown Core – the anonymous act from Nevada known for their genre-defying sound and surreal visual aesthetic – will bring their live show to stages in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth this June, following their scheduled performance at Hobart’s Dark Mofo.

This long-awaited tour marks a rare chance to experience Clown Core in the flesh. Pre-sale begins today at 1pm local time, with general on-sale opening Thursday 17 April at 1pm.

Blurring the lines between jazz, metal, electronica and absurdist performance art, Clown Core first broke onto the scene with their 2008 debut Surreal Cereal, and quickly gained cult status online. Since then, they’ve released a string of mind-bending records – Clown Core, Toilet, Van, and the 1234 EP – pushing the boundaries of what experimental music can be.

Their work has earned acclaim from underground tastemakers and global outlets alike, with support from NTS Radio, Double J, and BBC Radio 6. Praised for their technical skill and offbeat humour, Clown Core have cultivated a sound – and visual world – that is entirely their own.

Live, the duo are as unpredictable as they are precise. Their appearance at Coachella only solidified their growing status as one of experimental music’s most compelling and confounding acts. Now, audiences across the country will get a chance to witness it firsthand.
