A little over four weeks now until the UK’S premier rock festival returns to the legendary Donington Park in the guise of the Download Festival. The mammoth five-day event, housed in the spiritual home of rock and metal, will be headlined by a triple whammy of metal and rock royalty with Iron Maiden joining us as part of their ‘Legacy Of The Beast’ tour, rock & roll Hall of famers Kiss who will undoubtedly set the whole arena on fire and Scottish megastars Biffy Clyro. The lineup will be bolstered by other heavyweights of their genres such as Megadeth, Korn, Volbeat, Deftones, Sepultura and Airbourne.

This year we are even being treated to a couple of dual attacks, Myles Kennedy will be playing with the company on the second stage on the Friday and then headlining the dogtooth stage on the Sunday with an acoustic performance, and we even get a double whammy from Mr Harris, headlining the main stage on the Saturday with Eddie and the boys but then joining his other bandmates in the form of British Lion on the Dogtooth stage on the Friday, and after recently catching them on their UK tour, these are one band you do not want to miss.

Download strive to make all the fans as inclusive as possible and this year is no different, they are giving you, yes you, the chance to name the Second Stage. They want you to be inspired and come up with a name for the stage, ‘an epic name that only Downloaders could come up with’.

The Download website is your one-stop shop for all things Download, and all the pointers you will need to get prepped for the fest, from buying your ticket to the Download Dog’s guide to getting ready and everything in between. Information on The Big Green Coach Company and other ways of getting to the weekend of the year,  listings of festival essentials that you will need to make the weekend as smooth and hassle-free as possible, there is even a DL22 official playlist to get you in the mood, as if you need any help with that, but hey, someone might do.

It’s also not too late to jump on your bike and join the 10th-anniversary charity event, first co-founded in 2013 by Rod Smallwood, the Heavy Metal Truants. Unfortunately, it is too late to sign up to join the ride in person but if you fancy it, you can join the event virtually, so what are you waiting for, head over to the DL website and sign up if you fancy it.

Day and weekend tickets are on sale now, so if you haven’t already, grab yourself a ticket, mark it on the calendar and set the countdown!! This truly is one not to be missed.

Tickets are available here
