After steadily pulling back the curtain on vivid singles, LDRDO releases his debut album On The Road.
The project is immediately emotive, a testament to LDRDO’s ability to deliver heartfelt lyricism and varied and musically rich instrumental backdrops. Producing moments of unbridled brightness and infusing even the most painful sentiments with a sense of hope and optimism, the album is jumps between moments of acoustic guitar led songwriting, whilst other tracks delve into sprawling electronics and bedroom-pop aesthetics.
Each track arrests a natural essence, authenticity, and humanity which makes each performance all the more captivating as a listener. Even the choice of instrumentation is refreshing, with each new sound emerging from the developing atmosphere as a pleasant surprise. LDRDO introduces flourishes of organ, analogue synths, and fuzzy guitar tones, each to great effect and offering a different dimension to the album.
The artist shares his thoughts, “‘On the Road’ is a concept album based on my semi-autobiographical journey after a crisis and my decision to refocus my life. Taking the same title from Jack Kerouac’s legendary book, this piece is heavily influenced by American road stories alongside my home culture in the Middle East.”
Showcasing what he calls a soulful blend of funky grooves, Turkish psychedelic sounds, and Greek tones, LDRDO brings the cultural influences of his roots alongside contemporary sensibilities for a glowing organic tapestry of sound a across ‘On The Road’, to create a diverse and ever evolving sound.
