News: Lorna Shore Announce Massive 2026 Australian And New Zealand Tour

Lorna Shore are returning to Australia with the kind of momentum that turns heavy bands into phenomena. After a series of sold-out rooms on their first headline Australian run in 2025 and flattening crowds at Good Things Festival later that year, the New Jersey deathcore juggernaut have now announced their biggest Australasian tour yet for October 2026, including their first-ever New Zealand performances.

Joined by fellow US extremity merchants Whitechapel and Massachusetts wrecking crew The Acacia Strain, the arena run begins in Melbourne before tearing through Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane, eventually crossing to Wellington and Auckland for Lorna Shore’s long-awaited New Zealand debut.

For a band that once occupied the outer fringes of extreme music, Lorna Shore’s rise has been startlingly fast. Formed in 2009, the group spent years refining a sound that fused symphonic grandeur with deathcore brutality, but it was 2021’s …And I Return To Nothingness and the now infamous vocal performances of Will Ramos that detonated the band into internet obsession and mainstream visibility. Reaction videos, viral breakdown clips and millions of streams followed, but beneath the algorithmic chaos sat something more substantial: a band genuinely pushing deathcore into stranger, more cinematic territory.

That evolution continued on 2025 album I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me, a record that expanded the emotional scale of the band without sacrificing any of the violence. Lorna Shore’s music increasingly feels designed less like a collection of songs and more like total sensory collapse: blast beats colliding with orchestral melodrama, abyssal growls tangled around moments of genuine vulnerability.

Live, that tension becomes even more overwhelming. Previous Australian reviews described their performances as “face-ripping sonic armageddon” and “a white-hot barrage of blackened death metal”, but the remarkable thing about Lorna Shore is how emotional their chaos often feels beneath the sheer physicality of it. There’s catharsis in the destruction rather than just brutality for brutality’s sake.

The support lineup only amplifies the intensity. Whitechapel arrive as one of the foundational architects of modern deathcore, carrying nearly two decades of genre-shaping devastation behind them. From early landmark releases like The Somatic Defilement through to 2025’s Hymns in Dissonance, the Tennessee band have continually mutated beyond pure extremity, folding groove, atmosphere and increasingly personal lyricism into their sound while retaining their reputation as one of the heaviest live bands on the planet.

Meanwhile, The Acacia Strain continue operating like an active natural disaster. Across more than twenty years and thirteen albums, the band have carved out a lane where doom, sludge, hardcore and deathcore blur into one gigantic collapsing wall of noise. Their most recent album, You Are Safe From God Here, pushed further into nihilistic heaviness while proving the band remain incapable of softening with age.
