LOST MAP RECORDS, the beautifully curated imprint run by The Pictish Trail’s Johnny Lynch from the Scottish island Eigg, has a second series of V I S I T ▲ T I O N S ready for you: a subscriber-only, three-part set of special limited-edition releases, written and recorded in rural seclusion in a “bothy” cabin at the label’s Hebridean home. And the concluding part, by Rozi Plain, is now available.

Johnny says: “The residency programme presents a unique opportunity for exciting label roster acts and guest artists to break away from the connectivity saturated modern world, go off-grid, embrace the inspiring scenery and self-sustaining community spirit of a truly special island and focus solely on one project for a concentrated period.

“Lost Map provides accommodation, supplies, recording equipment and instruments; the rest is up to the residents.

“All three instalments of V I S I T ▲ T I O N S S02 – respectively by Arthur King (feat. Grandaddy’s Jason Lytle), Rachel Aggs (Sacred Paws/Shopping) and Rozi Plain and friends – are available now on a choice of either 12” vinyl (with download) or download-only package exclusively as part of a subscription service, which can be signed-up to via the Lost Map website.

“A new episode of the Lost Map Podcast, featuring an interview with Rozi Plain, is [also] available now.”

Rozi Plain is one of Lost Map’s most successful alumni; she’s now signed to Memphis Industries.

Her gently hypnotic, slightly askew songs have steadily made their way from Winchester, her home town, to London, via the bustle of the scene in Bristol.

Her V I S I T ▲ T I O N S residency saw her at work with two of her closest collaborators: Gerard Black, the Glasgow-based frontman of synth upstarts Babe; and Jamie Whitby-Coles, who plays alongside Rozi with This Is The Kit.

The ebullient trio travelled over to Eigg at the start of 2020, recording a collection of woozy, groovy instrumentals and songs.

Visitations 0203, by Gerard Black, Rozi Plain and Jamie Whitby-Coles is a six track 12″ containing the tracks “Beanie”, “Beiggy”, “Berty”, “Flighty”, “Marcy” and “Tricksy”, and is only available by subscription to the series, here.
