News: Shervin Boloorian Unveils ‘My Free Heart’

Iranian-born singer, songwriter, and peace advocate Shervin Boloorian has released his compelling new single, ‘My Free Heart’, a heartfelt meditation on freedom, resilience, and hope. Recorded in both English and Persian, the track previews his forthcoming album, Unbroken—a collection dedicated to amplifying messages of resistance, solidarity, and the unbreakable human spirit.

At once intimate and universal, My Free Heart is Shervin’s impassioned plea against war and a call for peace across the Middle East. Drawing on his own experiences as a refugee and survivor of political upheaval, the song offers solace, remembrance, and solidarity to those who have faced displacement, conflict, and loss in pursuit of freedom.

The single features an array of international talent: bass virtuoso Carl Young (Spearhead), classically trained multi-instrumentalist Sakari Heikka on viola and shakuhachi flute, and award-winning producer Kipper Eldridge—known for his work with Sting—who also contributed keys and mixing to the track. The Persian-language video intertwines footage from Iran with evocative visual poetry and art by poet and model Dr. Hardini Dyah Astuti, offering a textured portrait of the country and its people.

“This song holds a very special place in my creative heart,” Eldridge shares. “Shervin’s guitar riff is both beautifully simple and deceptively complex, anchoring the piece with elegance. This new Iranian version expands the song’s depth and meaning, offering a glimpse into the real Iran through the eyes and lives of its people. It’s powerful and moving, and I have no doubt it will resonate deeply with everyone who hears it.

My Free Heart is my tribute to anyone who has ever stood up for freedom and dignity. It’s also my way of sharing the beauty and humanity of Iran with the world.”
