Cork alternative rockers, Skies Behind, share the explosive new single ‘I Love It’.
Like a mix of Biffy Clyro and We Are Scientists, the track is led by the biting, yet refreshingly bright distorted guitar tones under the breathy lead vocals and driving drums. A defiant and hopeful anthem that packs punchy energy and some brilliantly infectious melodies. Closing with a gradual build that bursts into an explosive climax.
Speaking about ‘I Love It’, Skies Behind shared their perspective: “This song is about the overwhelming feeling of not being in control and not understanding what will make you happy. The hope in this song comes from the realization that leaning on those closest to you, and being there when they need you, is the greatest source of balance.”
Skies Behind, known for their fiercely independent and ‘bangers only’ mentality, has been steadily carving out a place for themselves in the alternative rock scene. Their first-ever Irish tour in March/April 2023 was a triumph, featuring electrifying performances in iconic venues such as Whelan’s upstairs in Dublin, Cork’s Cyprus Avenue, McHugh’s in Belfast, and Aras na Gael in Galway. Packed-out gigs and enthusiastic crowds quickly established Skies Behind as one of the most exciting upcoming alternative acts in Ireland.
