News: Stand Atlantic announce biggest Australian headline tour yet with Knuckle Puck

Stand Atlantic are taking GODBREATH home, announcing their biggest Australian headline tour to date for October and November with US pop-punk favourites Knuckle Puck joining them for the ride.

The Sydney four-piece will kick off The Godbreath Tour at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on October 23, the same day their new album GODBREATH arrives via Virgin Music Group. From there, they head to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre, Melbourne’s Forum, Adelaide’s Hindley St Music Hall and Perth’s Metropolis.

For a band that has spent much of the past decade steadily expanding its footprint outside Australia, the run is a sizeable homecoming. Stand Atlantic have graduated from smaller rooms to international festival stages and major support slots, and this tour puts them into some of the country’s best-known venues under their own name.

There is some history attached to the support slot, too. Chicago’s Knuckle Puck return to Australia to join Stand Atlantic eight years after the roles were reversed, when Stand Atlantic supported the Americans on their 2018 Australian tour.

“We’re so excited to embark on our biggest tour to date in support of our new album GODBREATH,” says vocalist Bonnie Fraser. “It’s come full circle being able to have our old tour buddies Knuckle Puck (US) come along for the ride!”

With fifth album GODBREATH due October 23. Recent singles ‘Velcro’ and ‘LUCID’ have already offered the first look at where the band is heading, continuing the restless approach to pop-punk and alternative rock that has increasingly defined their output.

Stand Atlantic’s story stretches back more than a decade, but 2017 EP Sidewinder proved an important turning point. Four albums and more than 500 million catalogue streams later, they have become one of the more visible Australian alternative bands internationally, touring extensively across the UK, Europe and North America.

Along the way they have supported Sum 41, MOD SUN, ONE OK ROCK, A Day To Remember and I Prevail, while festival appearances have included Good Things, Spilt Milk, Reading & Leeds, Warped Tour and Slam Dunk. They will also support Simple Plan in the UK as part of another busy year outside Australia.

Their catalogue includes the ARIA Platinum-certified ‘Deathwish’, featuring nothing, nowhere., which has accumulated more than 57 million streams, while their take on Juice WRLD’s ‘Righteous’ subsequently appeared in triple j’s inaugural Like A Version Hottest 100.

But The Godbreath Tour brings the focus back to where Stand Atlantic started. With their new record arriving on the very day the tour begins, these shows will give Australian audiences the first chance to see the GODBREATH era unfold on home ground.
