Premiere: Lazyrave reveal the trashy brilliance of ‘Snakey’

Newcastle Upon Tyne’s indietronica outfit Lazyrave – aka the unlikely union of frontman (Dan Clark) and drummer (Ben Kindlan) from rock & roll band ‘The Kush’ with producer (Mark “Clem” Clemmett) and tech engineer (Pete Cheyne), are releasing a new track Snakey, and we’re absolutely delighted to be able to premiere it right here on Backseat Mafia today.

The guys told us, of the Snakey “The track is about snakey rats, the kind of people that slither around with two faces and do whatever they can to get their own way.”

It’s fizzes and bubbles its way through, with a indie rock outlook ingeniously stapled onto this dance / electro backing, with stuttering basslines, synth splashes, wah-wah guitars and this brilliantly noodling saxophone that winds its way around the track, which in turn holds you in its thrall for its entirety.

It’s quite something. Check it out, here
