Premiere: Morningside Lane reveal new video for Home Crowd

Out tomorrow is the new single from New Jersey alt-pop/rock band Morningside Lane ‘Home Crowd’, and we’re delighted to be able to premiere it right here on Backseat Mafia today.

The track was produced by Eric Sanderson (ex-Augustines), and recorded at Mission Sound in Brooklyn, NYC. Of the track, the band say “The character in the song is un-fulfilled amongst his home town friends. The character sees everyone moving on in their lives, and checking the boxes as their lives progress. He feels left out, but still optimistic.”

There is a sanguine character to the track, although always tinged with a little bit of melancholy, as it plays out – decorated with spidery guitar lines and a carefree whiff of folk-rock about it. It’s the sort of thing you can sit down and lose yourself in – always a good indicator of something that really works.
