Los Angeles based The Brothers Landau, aka David and Daniel Landau are releasing their new EP on August 28th. Ahead of that they’re releasing the rather lovely indie-folk of ‘Haven’t Got A Name’ on June 23rd, and we’re delighted to be premiering it here today on Backseat Mafia.
Of the track, the brothers told us exclusively “‘Haven’t Got A Name‘ comes from a place of wrestling with the turmoil both inside ourselves and out in the world. We really struggled with where our lives were going and where the country (and world) is heading. Are we all focusing on the right things, or are we letting ourselves get distracted from what really matters in life? It’s a reminder that none of us have all the answers, but we hope hearing the song helps you through your own journey right now.”
There’s something of the Paul McCartney about Haven’t Got A Name, this beautifully melodic slice of indie-folk with a tune with an innocence and simplicity that soaks through into your psyche. It hangs onto just an acoustic guitar backing, with the brothers trading vocals in places, never letting the song become smudged or muddied at any point.
Sit down, lie back and let yourself be enveloped by The Brothers Landau.
