PREMIERE: TWÏNS searches for ‘Peace’ as he announces album for April

TWÏNS

He’s been drip-feeding us new music over several years but the Berlin-based Miro Denck has finally got an album on the way. Otherwise known as TWÏNS, Denck began 2021 by releasing the short and sweet ‘Velvet Dreams’, and he’s capping off the year with a pair of new songs; one of which serves as the lead single from a 9-track full-length that’s been a while in the making, and the wait isn’t quite over yet.

To tide us over, however, Denck’s announced that his debut is out at the end of April. ‘Peace’ is a rich and compelling listen, a shade over three minutes in length, and one which is directly inspired by the dissolution of a relationship. Per Denck: “To be honest, this is one of the most intimate songs on the record which generally is one revolving around break-up and trying to tackle impermanence, and as such it’s certainly the one where I felt most vulnerable recording it. It’s really nothing else than self-therapy, and other than that me trying to communicate with someone through the means of a song when I couldn’t in real life. … Whatever it may be is what it is. I don’t believe in telling people how they should perceive art. It’s a very subjective experience. In any way I hope that they can connect and that it gives them something that makes them feel alive.”

‘Peace’, officially released tomorrow, premieres alongside a video; and if that wasn’t enough, we’re also streaming its instrumental b-side ‘Anatman’. Both songs feature on The Human Jazz. Tune in below, and keep an ear out for the album when it lands on Thursday April 28th 2022 via Earth Libraries.
