There’s something quietly perfect about Wolf Alice soundtracking summer beneath open skies. Melbourne’s much-loved outdoor series Live at the Gardens will return to the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne in December 2026, launching its fifth season with a statement booking: a one-night-only Wolf Alice headline show on Saturday 5 December 2026.

The announcement arrives as the band prepare to land in Australia this weekend for the Laneway Festival series. Fresh from dates across Japan and China, and riding the momentum of an expansive international run, the 2018 Mercury Prize winners have confirmed that their return won’t stop with a single night in Melbourne. Alongside the Botanic Gardens performance, Wolf Alice will undertake a full Australian headline tour throughout December 2026, taking in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The past year has marked a defining chapter for the North London quartet. Their latest album, The Clearing, released in August 2025, captures a band operating with clarity and confidence, pairing emotional weight with restraint. Singles like ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’, ‘The Sofa’ and ‘White Horses’ underline a record that feels expansive without excess, a quality reflected in Brit Award nominations for Album of the Year, Group of the Year and Alternative/Rock Act.

On stage, that refinement has translated into scale without dilution. Wolf Alice’s return to the global festival circuit included standout sets at Primavera Sound, Radio 1’s Big Weekend and a sunset performance at Glastonbury, followed by sold-out headline runs across North America, Europe, the UK and Ireland. The cycle culminated in the biggest shows of their career to date, including a headline night at London’s O2 Arena.

Set against the greenery and dusk light of the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Melbourne date promises a rare intersection of setting and sound. It also signals the beginning of a broader Australian run, with headline shows across the country locked in for December 2026.
