See: Editors release new video for Magazine

Editors frontman Tom Smith says of new single Magazine, “Magazine is a pointed finger aimed at those in power…some corrupt politician or businessman…a character, and a tongue in cheek poke at the empty posturing and playing to the masses of the power hungry.” It marks a slight shift for the band, as they move seemlessly into anthemic pop – less angular, less dark even, but through the rousing chorus’s and synths as the weave through and swell underneath, they’ve created a new identity for themselves that seems to fit very snugly indeed. Essentially they’ve made a very good pop record. We shouldn’t be surprised.

Its taken from their forthcoming album ‘Violence’, produced by Leo Abrahams (Wild Beasts, Florence & The Machine, Frightened Rabbit) and Editors with additional production from Benjamin John Power (Blanck Mass, Fuck Buttons) and mixed by Cenzo Townshend, except ‘Hallelujah (So Low)’ mixed by Alan Moulder. It’s out March 9th via [PIAS] records.
