Still from video for Babes Never Die by Honeyblood

Honeyblood returned from their recent tours with plenty of material for the mini rockumentary that is the new video for ‘Babes Never Die’.

Shot by a variety of photographers and fans, the latest video from the Glasgow two-piece of frontwoman Stina Tweeddale and drummer Cat Myers features live footage from their recent US and UK tours cut with backstage snippets from their personal tour diary.

From the first chord, ‘Babes Never Die’ – the title track from their second album – is a blazing anthem. Tweeddale’s distinctive voice – a perfect mix of snarl and purr – matches the spiky guitars, smouldering and swooning backing vocals and Myer’s crashing drums.

Tweeddale commented: “This video has such a special significance to us. It was filmed over three months of shows throughout the US and UK. It’s a real snapshot of that tour and what it’s like for us on the road. Most of the travel and backstage footage was filmed by Cat and I on our phones. However, we could not have made it without great folk getting involved and filming at the shows!”

The release of the video appropriately coincides with the announcement of their largest tour to date, which will see them travel to Australia and Asia before working their way back to their biggest headline show to date at London’s Koko on 16 June.

The video for ‘Babes Never Die’ is a tantalising glimpse of the raw vitality of a Honeyblood show and is the perfect excuse for getting a ticket to see these heroines of rocking indie-pop in action.
